Living Goddess Kumari

Ever wondered how the Living goddess Kumari was chosen? In Nepal, 3-5 year old girls from the Newar community are selected to be Kumari. Only 1 out of 100 girls meet the 32 strict criteria, including a calm temperament & a 'perfect' body. Every year, around 20 girls are shortlisted, but only 1 is chosen to be the new Kumari (Source: Nepal's Kumari House). What a unique & special honor!
